Birtley Community Centre Youth Provision
Our youth provision at Birtley Community Centre is growing, with activities for both children and young people.
Kid Zone began in September 2025 and provides children with a fun, safe and welcoming space to enjoy activities, make friends and try new things.
In September 2026, we launched The Birtley Hive, our new youth club for young people aged 12 – 18. The Hive gives young people a space to meet, socialise, take part in activities and have their voices heard.
We are committed to providing safe, inclusive spaces where young people can have fun, build confidence and feel part of their community.
Kids Zone
Fun, friendship, food and plenty of activities for children aged 6 – 12!
Our Kids Zone is a fun and welcoming after school session where children can come along, make new friends, get creative and enjoy trying something different each week.
Over the past year, we’ve enjoyed everything from pizza making, cupcake and biscuit decorating and our very own ice cream station, to themed nights including Italian, French and Greek, along with our Halloween, Christmas, Easter and World Cup parties. We’ve also enjoyed games, discos, special activities and even a summer trip with plenty more to come!
It’s a place where children can have fun, build confidence, try new things and make great memories in a safe and friendly environment.

The Birtley Hive
The Birtley Hive is a new youth club at Birtley Community Centre, created for young people aged 12 – 18 to have a safe, welcoming space where they can meet friends, have fun, try new things and make their voices heard.
The Hive is all about young people having a say. From activities and games to food, events and future projects, we want the young people of Birtley to help shape what The Birtley Hive becomes.
Each week there’s a mix of games, activities, food and opportunities to get involved, alongside friendly youth workers who are there to listen, offer support and provide someone to talk to when needed.
Whether you want to play on the games console, join in with activities, meet new people, grab some free food or simply come along and have a chat - The Birtley Hive is your space.
